As Dead as a Dodo - My freedom blog 2

If I could travel back in time just a day... there would be many times I would like to visit. The Victorian era for the costumes,, days of Mr Darcy for romance (even though he is fictitious). visit my ancestors on the family history side .

But also to the days of the dear old Dodo (mid to late 17th century) from my birth country of Mauritius. To try and save this flightless bird which due to its naivety, fearlessness and flightless ness is no more. I originally thought that the Dodo was killed for its meat, but having read a bit more, see that it wasnt ideal for eating, but was killed for fun by man and their animals, and because it nested on the ground their eggs were easy targets for all. The only Dodo I have seen is a stuffed one in the museum in Port Louis. I dont know if the Dodo would have survived through the centuries but we will never know.

My Freedom blog/prompt 1

Ok Im bit (ALOT) behind with the blogging but really want to try and keep this up.

Clocks in my house, suprisingly not many clocks in my house. The main clock in the lounge/diner is a fairly cheap clock that is about 13 years old. From memory it was a gift from my marital days from my ex-hubby, my DD's father. It cant say it holds sentimental value but it does signify part of my past life. The pedulum has stopped moving but the clock seems to want to go on forever. Waiting for it to die a death bit it doesnt seem to want to! So while it is happy to keep going, it will have a place in our home.

The Last, Shoe Lane

Appropriately named venue for my leaving drinks with my team and some the girls from Corp Tax. Thanks for coming girlies. x

Last day in the City

Today wasn't a day I had been looking forward to for the last month, as it was a day of farewell as I left my job in the city where I have worked for just under 10 years. Yes, as predicted, there were a few tears, but I was so pleased to realise how many friends who made the effort for hugs, lunches and farewell wishes. The last week has been filled with many lunches, leaving drinks etc. and was lucky enough to receive many lovely gifts, flowers and cards, which I thank everyone for.

Secretarial Lunch All Bar One

All the VAT secretaries had a lovely lunch at All BaR ONE on Ludgate Hill, the best thing was the one pudding they had on the menu. Warm chocolate pudding.

My Freedom Class - Time

Time waits for no man (nor woman) - today in Shimelle's class we take a look at time, photograph it and journal what time means for us. Time is something that no-one can control nor can we turn back time or buy more time, it is the same for everyone on this planet, rich or poor, young or old. When I was young I wished for time to fly and now prefer it to slow down so I can enjoy it more (and perhaps use it more wisely)

My Freedom Class by Shimelle

Shimelle's new MY FREEDOM class starts today for 5 weeks. It has certainly started off with a bang, making use our cameras, our stash and our heads and creative hands. She has a knack of making us see things differently and brings out the best in each of us.

We will also be blogging (something new to me!). So I hope in 5 weeks' time my scrapping as well as my blogging will improve.
